Hi there! I am one of two PYP Coordinators at our school. We are having difficulty having both of us recognized in the system as it seems to only allow one PYP Coordinator per school. Can anyone advise us on this? Thanks!

I have gone through the rather detailed Assessment Principles and Practice document and find myself struggling to find a fundamental piece of information - does the IB assessment proceed in a blinded fashion ie., is information about the region, school, and candidate anonymized prior to assessment. Frankly if information about the school is not anonymized, I’d rather struggle with the claim that the assessment is fair and unbiased with no unconscious bias or confirmation bias creeping in. I understand goes to great lengths to establish principles, process and practice.

You may want to review your suggestion on citing the ChatGPT, unless the AI is capable of generating the primary source of data, which it doesn't.Students should rather use the information from Chat to find the primary data and to be guided on some structures to use for example.

Inclusive Education has become a standard of quality in the world. The term "Personalized Education" is also being used worldwide to refer to an education that in mindful of relationships, bonds, environment, strengths, community building and student needs; an education which uses assessment all along the process to make ongoing and flexible decisions in regard to environment, student grouping and ways of offering choice of learning and assessment paths to each student. It's an education that shows active ownership of student learning.

I love the effect that the EE had on my life!

I finished it in 1980, but in some ways I am still working on it today in 2023. My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1974, so I decided to focus on this topic for my EE at UWC Atlantic. I continued to work on Parkinson’s disease, while doing an MD and PhD. I participated in the first successful cell transplantation trials in this disease in 1990, became a professor at Lund University in my original home country Sweden. Moved to the USA in 2012 to set up a Parkinson’s disease Center at a private research institute (Van Andel Institute). In 2022, I took at role as Therapeutic Area Leader for Movement Disorders (includes Parkinson’s) at Roche (a pharmaceutical company devoted to developing new therapies for devastating brain disorders. So I am still working on my EE!
The EE has shaped my life, and I look forward to writing a great new chapter on novel Parkinson’s disease therapies!

Wonderful ideas. I'm interested in the challenges I face in working with students who don't do well with flexible seating. We have students who have a hard time figuring out who they will work with, or exactly where they will sit each day - they need a lot of help.

Great idea! We have students in our school who have a hard time knowing who they will be studying with and where they will be sitting (where their desk will be). These students will need to be transformed where they sit on a daily basis and they will also need help.

Would be interested in knowing if there is any movement on adding ASL to the DP program. Our local high schools have added ASL as a non-IB track course. I have a child that is in an IB program who is finding ASL to be a massive added benefit to her ability to communicate. Unfortunately... she cannot continue with ASL and continue with the IB DP. ASL has immense value to the hard of hearing. It has strong benefits for those on the autism spectrum as well. It enables them to more fully integrate into the education environments. An SL ASL course would be very popular in our locals schools

Hello! i am very new to the IB program and grabbing literally on everything i read, see in the IB classroom, etc. Going through the blog on Empathy were learners wanted to help earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, i wanted to know how to embed such current affairs and its diversion from the Unit that is in process in the classroom, as it is not chalked out in the bubble planner.

i think it's great to have the possibility nowadays to change the classroong arrangement for some specifics learning engagements, related to the intention of the interaction that you wanna have among students. It brings a new feeling of interaction and fresh air for the brain
